Privacy Policy

The IEU (Internal Evaluation Unit) was established as an independent unit of HOU in accordance with Article 8 of Law 2552/1997 (Government Gazette A’ 266). Furthermore, the responsibilities of the IEU are defined in Article 35 of Law 5094/2024 (Government Gazette A’ 39). Its primary objective is to contribute to the enhancement of the quality of services provided by HOU through the activities it carries out throughout the academic year. The goals of the IEU concern the evaluation of the educational process at HOU, and more specifically the assessment of teaching staff, Course Modules, educational material, and administrative services. Additionally, the Unit’s activities include the collection and processing of quality data, support for accreditation procedures, and scientific research on methods and processes for ensuring the quality of educational technologies.

Purpose of processing

Personal data will only be used for analysis and statistical processing, in order to draw conclusions regarding the issues investigated by the IEU and only to the extent that this cannot be done using anonymous data, as is usually the case in relevant surveys of the Unit.

Legal basis for processing

The personal data of the subjects are subject to legal processing, following the statement of consent of the participants.

Personal data processed

IEU undertakes that it will follow all the necessary procedures in order to ensure compliance with the current legislation for the protection of personal data. Personal data such as student demographics, registry data (e.g. year of enrollment and graduation or deletion, years of suspension, number of modules, performance in assignments/examination), module evaluation data and grade performance, which will result from collection or processing, will not will be used by IEU for any purpose other than the investigations it carries out.

Receivers

Access to your personal data is provided by the absolutely necessary competent staff of IEU, which is committed to maintaining confidentiality. Staff does not transmit personal data to third parties. The information collected in the course of the Unit's investigations is used anonymously.

Data retention time.

By completing the investigation IEU separates the identifiable data from the research questionnaire and keeps it for a specified period of time only for quality control purposes and the authenticity of the data and the reliability of the research. In any case, these data are deleted / destroyed from the files of IEU upon completion of the investigation and not more than one year.

Technical and organizational IEUsures

IEU takes all the necessary technical and organizational IEUsures such as the use of antivirus programs and firewalls, etc. to ensure the anonymity and confidentiality of personal data. All those involved in their collection are contractually bound to comply with the rules of confidentiality and lawful processing.

Rights of data subjects

§  Right to information and transparency: It is the right to know who is processing your data, what it is and why. The HOU is obliged to provide you with clear information in plain language.

§  Right of access of the data: You have the right to request free access to your personal data held by the HOU.

§  Right of correction: You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal data and the completion of incomplete data.

§  Right to delete ("right to be forgotten"): You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data, under certain conditions, such as when the data is no longer needed, you have revoked your consent, the data has been illegally processed.

§  Restriction of processing: You have the right to request a restriction on the processing of your personal data when their accuracy is questioned, the processing is illegal, the data is no longer needed by the controller, you have objections to the automated processing.

§  Right to data portability: You have the right to request the transfer of your data to another controller.

§  Right of objection: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by the HOU, provided that the public interest is not affected.

§  Right to non-automated individual decision-making, including profiling: You have the right to object when a decision relating to you is based solely on automated processing, including profiling, and this decision produces legal effects or significantly affects you.

Updates - modifications and validity of this policy

This Policy is valid from 01/04/2021. IEU reserves the right to change or modify this Policy at any time without notice. Such changes, modifications, additions or deletions to the Policy will take effect immediately i.e., from their posting on the Website axiologisi.eap.gr.
